Mohammad Tabrizi, born in 1998 in Nahavand, Iran, is a 26-year-old Iranian cinematographer and filmmaker. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in graphic design from Soore University (SU). Mohammad has worked as a director of photography on various short films. In 2024, he debuted his first work, "Resilience" (Original title: «تاب‌آوری» | Romanized: Taab'avari).

Director Statement
"Resistance", "flexibility", "resilience", and "liberation" are the core themes of this work, which narrates a journey that encapsulates my personal life and identity. This journey has been my refuge, guiding me through life's most complex moments without succumbing to failure, always seeking alternatives to move forward.

This narrative resonates deeply with Iranian society, particularly Iranian women. Living under a regime filled with restrictions and coercion, these women "resile", "endure", and "struggle" with the hope of "liberation".

A female performer was chosen to symbolize the women of my country, portraying this liberating process as an allegory. These women, forced to live under unfair conditions without even the right to choose their clothing, embody "resistance" and persistently strive for liberation. This effort is vividly depicted in the performer’s portrayal.

This work demonstrates the struggle against limitations, using various devices, especially cinematic techniques like the 4:3 aspect ratio, reflecting the constraints in the performer’s environment; The use of black and white emphasizes the interplay of shadows and light. Throughout the performance, the performer confronts and seeks to "liberate" herself from the obstacles she faces.

All these elements culminated in the dance film "Resilience", created independently in Iran with a personal budget, despite the risk of being labeled a criminal by the regime. The end of our "resilience", and that of all freedom-loving people worldwide, is hopeful, with "liberation" awaiting us. In the hope of liberation and peace in the world.
