Bridge offers seasonal internship opportunities in the publishing, programming, editorial and development departments. As an intern, you can expect to gain practical knowledge about independent, not-for-profit publishing and programming, including marketing, layout and design, exhibition production and general nonprofit management practices. Course credit can be arranged. Some stipends are available in 2025 through an award from the Illinois Arts Council’s Youth Employment program (for interns 22 years and below).

General duty roles will broadly include:

-Draft markups through FilmFreeway and Submittable content submission systems
-Order and Fulfillment support
-Sponsor deck development and updating
-New sponsor outreach
-Book, magazine and journal design and layout
-Magazine review byline writing, editorial support and blog posting
-New grant research, development and writing support
-Assist in grant prep, niche narrative development
-Newsletter development and publication
-Distribution campaign support

Interns will also provide all around logistics support

Each Publishing & Editorial internship role can be tailored to include emphases in: 

  • Editorial, including emphases in:

    • Literature, Poetry, Art Criticism & Visual-Cultural Studies

  • Development

  • Graphic Design

  • Marketing

  • Nonprofit Management
